Award-winning lawyer Kat Craig works on human rights issues such as gender equality and racial justice. In 2021, she was part of a team that helped to evacuate the women’s national football team from Afghanistan.

Kat Craig is a lawyer with more than 20 years of experience helping individuals and communities to defend their rights. As the founder and CEO of Athlead, a sport and human rights consultancy, she now works with elite athletes to help them tap into their unique ability to change the world.

Craig's efforts to evacuate the women's national football team from Afghanistan earned her an Integrity & Impact Award at the Sport Industry Awards in 2022. Her work to safeguard women athletes from abuse was featured in Vogue, and she regularly appears on national and international media and writes for various print publications, including The Guardian. She is a senior advisor to the Centre for Sport and Human Rights and a board member of Doc Society, a nonprofit committed to producing and distributing documentary films. In her spare time, she coaches Camden & Islington United, a supporter-owned football club in North London.
