Why you should listen

Jan Wurzbacher is the cofounder and co-CEO of Climeworks, one of the global leaders in developing a unique carbon removal technology known as direct air capture and storage (DAC+S) that captures carbon from ambient air for permanent underground storage. A mechanical engineer by training, he founded the company in 2009 in Switzerland together with Christoph Gebald. Climeworks launched Orca, the world's only commercial DAC+S facility, in Iceland in 2021, which runs entirely on renewable energy.
