In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Arshia Cont

Arshia Cont, while a teenager in home country Iran, was struggling to decide between becoming a scientist or composer. He is happy he didn’t. He is today a research scientist at the intersection of the arts and sciences. His main focus is on artificial intelligence and computer systems dedicated to musical creativity. As a computer musician, he has enjoyed collaborations with contemporary music composers such as Marco Stroppa, Philippe Manoury and Pierre Boulez. He is the lead developer of the Antescofo project, that leverages computers with human-like musical intelligence capable of playing music on stage with other musicians. Antescofo has been featured in concerts with prestigious ensembles such as Berlin Philharmonics, NY Philharmonics, Chicago Symphony and BBC Orchestra. Arshia works at IRCAM, Paris, a center dedicated to musical research, where he runs the MuTant research team (Inria/CNRS) while managing research/creativity interfaces in the institute.

Barbara Glatz

Montpellier Reine de cœur depuis 2000, elle fonde son entreprise et une association "la Montpellier reine a du cœur" en 2008. L'association organise chaque année une course contre le cancer du sein qui rassemble le jour de la fête des mères près de 6000 personnes et sensibilise les jeunes filles à l'importance du dépistage. Elle remporte le 11eme prix des femmes de l'année par le prix femina en 2011 pour ses actions sur la prévention : Seins nus place de la comédie. En 2012 l'exposition photographique "Ce crabe qui nous pince les miches", des photos chocs, accompagnées de témoignages émouvants, interpellent le public sur l’expérience de ces 10 femmes face à la maladie, leurs souffrances et leurs espoirs. Cette exposition parcours la France depuis 2 ans. Pétroleuse aguerrie, et maman Rock nroll de 3 enfants, elle crée en 2013 un magazine gratuit pour enfants afin de leur donner le gout du papier et un accès à la culture.

James Davis

James Davis is Program Manager for the Google Cultural Institute, overseeing global operations with museum partners, managing product development and design for the public website, co-directing the curatorial and exhibitions programme and helping drive the project's strategic direction. Prior to this he curated at Tate in London, conceiving and rebuilding the new user-oriented online collection and delivering award-winning interactive interpretation for the galleries at Tate Britain.

Jay Jaboneta

Jay Jaboneta is the Co-Founder of Kabayanihan Foundation (http://www.kabayanihan.org), Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation (http://www.yellowboat.org) and OneAwesomeCompany. He is currently working as the Head of Corporate Affairs for Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), the largest business-led social development organization in the country committed to poverty reduction.

Jean-Noel Lafargue

Jean-Noël Lafargue, enseignant spécialisé dans les "nouveaux médias" au département arts plastiques de l'Université Paris 8, à l'école d'art du Havre, et, anciennement ou ponctuellement, aux écoles d'art d'Amiens, Rennes, Angoulême, et à l'Ensci. Auteur de deux livres techniques destiné aux artistes, d'un essai sur la bande dessinée, d'une traduction d'un récit de science-fiction et d'un livre sur les mythes de la fin du monde.
