The Bow Valley is a very special place. We often think that because of the surrounding wilderness and all the ways we can play in it, but it’s the people who live and play in our community that are even more special and inspiring. People who live in the Bow Valley are full of ideas. Some are experts in their field, others are people who are inspired and who share that inspiration with others. From PhDs to inventors, and from creative entrepreneurs to passionate volunteers, our community has a rich diversity of perspectives.
Tedx is all about ideas worth spreading, and that is what this event is all about. In Canmore, we are known for thinking outside the box, for creative problem solving and setting precedent that other communities can follow. We have stories to share that Go Beyond our little valley.
But we also live in “The Bow Valley Bubble”, our utopic mountain town. Tedx represents an opportunity for us to invite other creative thinkers in to our community to share their stories and perspectives, to help burst our bubble and make our community even richer.
This event is about learning – learning about our community and then going beyond that to learn about things we can’t even anticipate knowing. We want to inspire and be inspired. We want to draw from experts and amateurs alike. Everyone has something to teach and everyone has something to learn. Tedx Canmore aims to do both.
