This TEDxTucsonSalon features three talks by University of Arizona faculty on the Mind, Bio-Mechanical technology, and Female Fertility. Dr. David Armstrong, one of our speakers,is developing SmartSox, which could help prevent amputation in diabetics. The department of surgery's Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance is one of three partners that received more than $2 million to conduct a three-year study on the state-of-the-art socks, which are embedded with sensors that can detect early signs of foot ulcers that could lead to amputation or death.
