Chiara Milani

Chiara Milani, nominated by JCI Italy, was elected 2013 JCI (Junior Chamber International) President at the 2012 JCI World Congress held in Taipei, Taiwan. Born April 24, 1976 in Castellanza, Italy, Milani holds a degree in linguistics and a national professional certificate in journalism. As a freelancer, she has worked for newspapers, magazines, radio stations and online news outlets at both the local and national level. In 2003, Milani received special recognition as “Reporter of the Year” in the Lombardy region of Italy. Since 2004, she has served as Vice Director of News for RETE 55, a local television station in Milan, Italy. In 2011, Milani began conducting a weekly broadcast highlighting the contributions of women to societal development on the local level. Milani resides in Busto Arsizio, Varese, Italy with her husband, Rudi, who has been honored as JCI Senator No. 70421. Milani joined JCI Varese in September 2000, and became local Secretary General in 2004. Serving as JCI Italy President in 2009, Milani led the growth of her JCI National Organization, which saw its membership increase 31 percent during her tenure. At the international level, Milani has served as 2010 Vice President assigned to Europe and 2012 Executive Vice President for the Americas. In 2011, Milani was appointed the Presidential Assistant for Europe for JCI President Kentaro Harada. She has attended ten JCI Area Conferences, seven JCI World Congresses, four JCI Global Partnership Summits and the JCI Academy. She has been honored as JCI Senator No. 68122 and is a Phil Pugsley donor to the JCI Foundation. Milani speaks English and Italian and has basic knowledge of Spanish, French and German.
