At TEDxEverest we want to highlight TEDx talks on global issues like sustainability, people who have shown exceptional persistence, and we will highlTEDxEverest was held in May 2013, and highlighted TEDx talks on global issues like sustainability, people who have shown exceptional persistence, as well as some of the issues that are important to those living in mountain regions in the world. We showed pre-recorded TEDxEverest talks in addition to live speakers. Additionally, several TEDx organizers sent in the best TEDx talks from their events for viewing on the mountain.
Held on the 60th anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary’s first ascent of the tallest peak, TEDxEverest was exceptional not only due to its extreme location at over 6400 meters (21,000 feet) elevation but also for those in attendance: expedition leaders, sherpas and climbers, all of whom have a special reason why they are atop the highest mountain in the world. During TEDxEverest we interviewed some of these individuals and will share the videos on this page.
