In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Jaroslav Oster

Jaroslav Oster, Cybernetics graduate from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Technical University Kosice, has worked in the IT industry for 20 years as a consultant for information security at Info Consult, s.r.o. For the last 13 years, Jaroslav has been working as a forensic expert in the IT field. He also partakes in several educational projects aimed at issues such as information security and the prevention of IT criminality in health institutions, local selfgovernments and commercial sectors. Apart from that, Jaroslav is also in theadvisory committee of the project zodpovedne.sk.

Matúš Gomolčák

Matúš Gomolčák graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Technical University, Košice, with the specialization in Architecture and Urbanization. Matus already worked with several architects during his university years and after graduating, he became a member of the well-known architecture studio Atrium, with which he participated in numerous conferences and galleries. He co-organized the successful project Mestske a Medzimestske zasahy in 2011 and 2012. With his colleagues from Atrium and a non-profit organization at uzemneplany.sk, Matus is currently preparing the realization of the culturesport center Pod mostom. For the past few years, Matus is shaping Kosice and its peripheries.

Dávid Králik

Born in 1975 in Bratislava, David graduated from the Faculty of Education at the Comenius University, Bratislava, with a degree in teaching and Speechlanguage pathology. During university he has undergone practice as a teacher in hospitals. At the moment, David is working for a non-profit organization called Leaf and on top of that, he is establishing a new, alternative school in Bratislava called Felix. Since his early years, he has been a keen fan of fencing, winning several championships in various categories and currently working as an international referee. David participates in charitable projects, programs against racism and helps out at the oncology clinic. Being the creator of the site ini.sk, he promotes alternative routines and informal methods of teaching children. Author of the children’s book – Ja, pojedač hmyzu.

Peter Szolcsányi

Peter has been interested in chemistry since his early childhood. Now it is his work and hobby as well. He lectures at university, leads a research team and popularizes science. He is also keen on cooking, writing and diving. Peter adores his children and is addicted to hot chocolate. At TEDxKošice he will try to explain what is love, how to maintain it and what does our body experience during love from another perspective as we already know it.

Júlia Marcinčinová

Júlia Marcinčinová was born in Prešov. As a student of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice she had a chance to study abroad for one semester thanks to the Erasmus program. This experience totally changed her life. Getting to know another culture and new possibilities for young people opened her doors to the Erasmus Student Network (ESN). She gained valuable experience thanks to a voluntary job on local level of this student organization. Júlia has later become the president of the ESN Slovakia where she applies these lessons in practice. Her TEDx talk will be about added value to volunteering and student activism for successful life of a young person.

Dávid Vendel

Dávid Vendel, a native of Košice, dedicates himself to healthy lifestyle and personal development. Together with his sister and girlfriend makes inspiring YouTube videos about how to live healthy, happy and full life. He worked in Prague as a tourist guide in years 2011 and 2012. Dávid traveled a huge part of Europe only with budget of 5€/day using couchsurfing. He recently returned with his girlfriend from their 5 months travel across India and Nepal. At TEDx he will tell you how to live a life authentically, according to yourself, create one‘s own reality, free yourself from bounds of society and from this point how to reintegrate, but knowingly, responsibly and with deeper understandings.

Martin Vrábko

Holder of The Master Qualified European Photographer, the highest award of the Federation of European Photographers. Also, honored by prestigious award IPC Lead in field of portrait photography granted by the International Photography Council under auspices of the UN. Chairman of the Professional Photographers Association of Slovak Republic, one of the World Photography Cup founders. Martin went through portrait, corporate and commercial photography, but his most important inspiration as in his personal, as in professional life is the strength of a man and the sensitive inside. Take the opportunity to look into the world of energy and genuine emotions. Those are being rinsed out on the surface during photographing and it is really hard to spot them out otherwise.

Daniel Bútora

Daniel Bútora cooperates with companies and schools in fields of strategy, process improvement, team leadership, communication and executives development. He graduated in international relations at Charles University in Prague. He worked as correspondent, editor and later chairman of Free Europe, Slovak section. Nowadays, Daniel works with corporate clients in FBE and with schools of C. S. Lewis. He writes for magazine .týždeň where he also helps to redact educational section. He lives in Bratislava, with spouse Jana has five kids and a dog. In his free time, he likes to wash dishes.

František Ďurovský

František, year 1987, graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Technical University in Košice. At present, he acts as a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He works on a variety of popularizing robotics projects. He likes to program, he likes to teach programming, although he doesn’t consider himself to be an IT worker. In his talk at TEDxKošice 2013 František will bring closer to you a story about famous puzzle which fascinates all age groups for many generations.

Matej Nemček

Matej studied at the faculty of Economic Informatics, University of Economics in Bratislava. Founder member of the first Slovak hackerspace Progressbar, based in Bratislava. He tries to lead people towards new modern trends of DIY cultures and communities. He also tries to increase awareness about the Bitcoin and shows people how to protect their digital privacy. Matej works as web developer in company Geefu where he codes web applications oriented on business activities B2B and B2C. At his TEDx talk Jigsaw of possibilities he tells us what will bring us and what will take from us the individualism of domestic manufacturing in the near future. He will present its potential to young constructors and what will the influence be on the economy.

Tomáš Rosputinský

Co-founder and creative director of the first crossline advertising company THIS IS LOCCO, which got a lot of significant clients half year past its establishment in October . He understands brands. He copywrites. He creates communication strategies. He started as journalist. After few years in marketing field Tomáš went to London, where he experienced inspirational and instructive 3 months. As doorstep seller. He is keen on saxophone, tennis, powerpoint and everything online. Strategically and creatively works with many important Slovak start-ups. With one of them he won the STARTUPAWARDS in category DESIGN&ART last year.
