TEDxPasseigDesBorn, as the first TEDx event in Mallorca, wanted to bring together a number of outstanding individuals whose work is intended only to provide a better alternative to society. Dealing with subjects as varied as asteroid detection or prevention of infant mortality, TEDxPasseigdesBorn wanted to share a number of ideas born from Mallorca and they are having a huge impact on our society.

Susana Malón

She holds a degree in Physics, Master in Environmental Engineering and Astronomy and Astrophysics. Partner of Spanish Lighting Committee, for 11 years working on issues of energy efficiency and lighting. In early 2012 he founded Lumínica Environmental engineering department specializing in Outdoor Lighting and Light Pollution, which won the first prize in the Red emprendeverde Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, the new business initiative. Physical Excellence is the College of Physicians and focal point of the Starlight Initiative (associated with UNESCO), in Defence of the Night Sky as World Scientific, Cultural and Environmental Heritage.

Salvador Sánchez

Salvador Sanchez is director of the Astronomical Observatory of Mallorca, a founding member in 1988. It is an associate member of the International Astronomical Union and is part of the Expert Group of Asteroids and Comets Near Earth (NEOs). It is also Doctor Honoris Causa by the British Open University. The AOM has the Mallorca Planetarium as a reference center of scientific disclosure in the Balearics, plus an advanced robotic station in La Sagra (Granada) LSSS (La Sagra Sky Survey). OAM is currently the undisputed leader in Spanish astronomical discoveries with over 7,000 asteroids, 8 comets, variable stars, novae and extragalactic supernovae 20. Finally the Astronomical Observatory of Mallorca, is the European leader in the Space Environment Monitoring of asteroids, comets, artificial satellites and space debris potentially hazardous to Earth.

Actualmente cofundador de Mola.com, incubadora/aceleradora de proyectos de Internet, durante los últimos 10 años ha sido emprendedor de diversos proyectos de Internet como el operador de telecomunicaciones Premium Media Communications (Mallorca); la empresa de desarrollo web SX Networks (Uruguay) vendida a un grupo francés; la empresa operadora de juegos online Bingos.com (Malta) vendida a NetPlay Plc (cotizada en AIM); la red de medios MediaGambling (Uruguay) vendida a la empresa CMedia (Barcelona) y la red social Wamba.com (Mallorca); una de las principales webs de habla hispana con socios como Morten Lund (inversor Skype). También es bloguero, business angel, y ponente habitual en conferencias de emprendedores tecnológicos y escuelas de negocios (IE, IESE).

Miguel Payeras

Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos y Máster en Dirección de Empresas MDE-MBA, ha dedicado más de 25 años al sector turístico y ha residido y trabajado en Europa, América y Asia como ejecutivo de multinacional turística y como emprendedor. Dirige Balears.t, una asociación privada sin ánimo de lucro que trabaja para la transformación turística de las Islas Baleares a través de la ejecución de proyectos conjuntos de sus socios, basados en la aplicación del conocimiento y la tecnología a todos los eslabones de la cadena de valor turística.

LLuis Amengual

Bachelor of Environmental Science and Master in Instrumentation and Process Control. His training has been riding between Denmark, Beijing and Spain. Currently he is, among others, responsible for the environmental section of Diario de Mallorca. He has worked on numerous environmental projects on waste, protected areas or greenhouse gases. Curious insatiable think nothing is impossible, for the dreams of yesterday are the hopes of today and the reality of tomorrow.

Mercedes Martinez-Jauand

Degree in Psychology and a PhD in Neuroscience. Masters in Neuroscience and expert technological university promotion and transfer of knowledge. Currently performs research on chronic pain, genetics and brain activity. Interested in business and innovation, has participated in the creation of BIPSIN, a company by promoting the transfer of research results to the applied field. Its purpose is twofold: to raise awareness of the problems associated with chronic pain, and prevent discoveries remain in the drawer of a laboratory.

Maria José Lluy

Diploma in Education and a Masters in Learning Disabilities, has worked for over 10 years in the education sector. Currently Director of ALOHA Mental Arithmetic Education in Spain, a program of children's mental development that uses the abacus as a key learning tool. M ª José Lluy was part of the team responsible for the implementation of this program of Asian origin in Spain (2009) and directed the delegation of ALOHA Mallorca. Proof of his great fighting spirit, Maria Jose has combined his career with the practice and teaching of Taekwondo discipline that claims to have acquired the high dose of self-control, safety and discipline that characterize it.

Jorge Muñoz

Doctor of Medicine and Chief of Pediatrics Palmaplanas Chiron Hospital. Makes a valuable and recognized work at St. Joseph in Chad, the dead heart of Africa, helping underprivileged children and fighting hunger in one of the world's poorest countries. Specializing in adoption and awarded the silver medal Prison Social Merit for his activity as a volunteer in health care to children of imprisoned mothers on Mothers Unit Mallorca.

Sue Everatt

Sue Everatt personally never considered trying to help make a better world until he met with the concepts of a Resource Based Economy as proposed by The Venus Project, located in the city of Venus, Florida, USA. Finding that this is the most interesting and complete proposal with which she had run to solve the massive global problems we face today, Sue now devotes most of his spare time to helping others learn the address.
