For decades, West Texas has been the birthplace of people, products and ideas that have reshaped the world. Ideas such as building the first cost effective gigabit optical transceivers to provide the optical input and output for high-speed computer networks, can be traced back to Lubbock, TX.

Where did such innovative thinking go? Nowhere.

Lubbock is still the home of some of the best and brightest minds in the world. On September 29th, we celebrate those minds and highlight individuals who have a passion for changing the world in which we live.
