The Theme
Our target for this event was to have the theme exemplified both in our speakers and in parts of our audience.
With our lineup, we were able to gather speakers who exemplify the theme through the work they do, experiences they’ve had, or just their passions and aspirations. We also invited along people within the community who do community work or service on a daily basis without any desire for reward or recognition.
Our Event Aims
In addition to the talks on the day we would also like to see some action coming from the event. We have managed to gather an audience with people from a wide variety of backgrounds including the creative industries, tech, small business, charities, social enterprise and education among others. We believe that there are transferrable skills and ideas no matter what discipline you come from and so we have some things in the works to capitalise on this gathering of people.
It's as is said, that while TED and TEDx events are about 'ideas worth sharing', it shouldn't stop there. Instead, there should be ideas that lead to conversation, conversation that leads to collaboration, and collaboration that leads to action.
