Theme: Creative Community

TEDxMfuleni aims to show that change starts with communities and communication.
“Design, creativity and technology are at the centre of innovation, across the globe, and most importantly in the very communities that make up a city. Innovation starts when individuals are inspired to bring about positive change and develop creative solutions to their daily lives. In South Africa, it is clear that in order to see real economic growth, we need to find ways of enabling all citizens to participate in the economy. In our poorer communities the inspiration and opportunities to take part are somewhat limited. For this reason we need to develop a public space and platform in which communities can engage, share ideas, and be inspired to find opportunities for development and growth"
