New York, NY – TEDxWashingtonHeights, a premiere event sponsored by Telemundo, is coming to New York City’s The Hispanic Society of America on Monday, October 24, 2011. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Five dynamic Latino thought leaders combined with TEDTalks videos will be featured throughout the event that is intended spark deep discussion and connection among those who attend.

Similar to TED, an organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, each of the following TEDxWashingtonHeights speakers will be asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes.

Known for featuring the world’s leading thinkers and doers, TED speakers have included the likes of Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Benoit Mandelbrot, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
