Gdynia, Poland (September 6, 2011) – On 22 September, TEDxGdynia will take place in the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia. The international, independently organized event, licensed by TED, will be held in the spirit of “Ideas Worth Spreading” The theme of this year’s event is “social innovation,” and distinctive speakers include Jolanta Budny, Paweł Sroczyński and Piotr Krośniak, among others. TEDxGdynia is free to the public, but seats are limited and registration – now open at www.tedxgdynia.com – is required.

Over the past few months, TEDx events have come to some of Poland’s biggest cities such as Warsaw, Lodz, Cracow and Poznan. At a TEDx event, each speaker has 18 minutes on stage to present their inspiring ideas and challenge the audience to change their way of looking at the world around them.

The main theme of “social innovation” is well suited to the community of ThreeCity, a hub for innovation and social change in Pomerania region. TEDx events, which take place all over the world, are proof that powerful ideas have no boundaries or limitations.

“We assure all participants that TEDxGdynia will be a memorable event, so we hope that the local community will come out and join us for this special day,” said Kamil Wyszkowski, a director of UNDP in Poland.

The conference will take place on 22nd September in Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia, Al.Zwycięstwa 96/98. The event is supported by Gazeta Wyborcza and attendance is free after a prior registration on-line at: www.tedxgdynia.com.
