TEDxZagreb is an TED-style event, a full day gathering of creative people, thinkers and practitioners from different areas coming from this part of the world, a platform where "ideas worth spreading"can be exchanged, and an informal venue for hanging out and networking.

The topic of this event is "Fusion".

The programme will take place from morning until evening on Saturday, 28th in the House of Croatian parliament.

Registration fee is 490 HRK (app. 98,00 USD); all participants pay for their travel and accomodation (except speakers)

Nikola Plečko

Nik is the man who has created the strongest Croatian cartooning brand named Nik Titanik. Breaking the path into media mainstream has been hard and long, marked by many rejections, but with persistant hard work and professional approach to clients and their business needs, Nik has suceedeed to prove himself as a credible and desirable associate to almost all major Croatian newspapers, magazines, publishing and marketing agencies. After four years role as a graphic designer in the big corporation T-Mobile Croatia, Nik finally founded his own company which he named "Nik Titanik Studio" (www.niktitanik-studio.net/). In a very short period Nik Titanik studio has become the first agency in Croatian market, specialized in making illustrations and caricatures. Together with this, he has been developing graphic design solutions for various remarkable clients and for some time he has been working on the strategy of transition to a higher organisational level, i.e. becoming bigger agency and merge with potential partners. In all his work he is constantly following his dream, vision and passion to create. That is what makes him great, not only as a cartoonist/illustrator, but also as a designer who can meet successfully any business challenge on the marketing field. In addition to all this, he owns and administrates the most popular humorous web site in Croatia www.niktitanik.com completely branded and marketed by using Guerilla Marketing methods.

Siniša Mareković

Sinisa Mareković was born in ancient 1973. He believed that he will be a doctor, but the life took the differnet path and now he is one oft he most famoust poltical cartoonist in Croatia. He is constantly seeking a way to channalise excess of creative energy. Last two years developing brand S. Marekovich . Publishing weekly in 24sata Express magazine and the portal net.hr. At the conference, TEDx Zagreb, together with his colleague Nik Titanic, will show us how image is a powerful medium.

Mary Crnković Pilaš

Born in Australia, I had always wanted to pursue a career in music. After having finished my Bachelor of Arts majoring in Music and French, I moved to Croatia where I worked for a number of corporate companies. Five years ago, I decided to go back to my first love, music, and began taking lessons and attending the choir of Professor Baldo Mikulic where I learnt the Werbeck singing method which I now teach. Besides teaching singing, I am also the lead singer of the band Druyd from Zagreb, Croatia.

Robert Ripli

Robert Ripley professionally does research and improvement of gastronomy (in the broader sense of the word) - exploring the etymology of dishes and foods, search the best synergy of taste and styles of food, wine. He follows small producers and growers, promotes them to the public through the is strongly involved in all issues related to positive gastronomy. The lecture will be based on the hypothesis that the Cuisine shaft that can brighten up the modern world - a lecture titled Encounter of man and gastronomy. The lecture will address the declining interest of modern man to take the time to enjoy quality food, and will try to give some suggestions how this problem can be put to an end.

Diana Pečkaj Vuković

Diana Vukovic Pečkaj is a journalist born in Zagreb. Since childhood, he writes stories, novels and poems. Until a few years ago was a heavy smoker, and after twenty years of slavery to cigarettes, managed to get rid of their addictions… sicne than, flooded with free time, she wished to share the experience with others and help them to become aware of their problem and they say "No " to smoking . She publishe a book on the topic. On TEDxZagreb event will present his latest secret invention. He loves animals, theater, film, history, and Zagreb, and in nature, that her greatest inspiration, carried out his every free moment with her daughter, son and wife.

Frane Dumandžić

Like any average student, I think I'm above average, and that I'll just change the world. Still studying architecture. Change the world starting with two enthusiasts of the Association, "Shadow University of Split" which will deal with different projects, The association, as its name says, should be (constructively) complement the University of Split – it's projects and actions.

Tomislav Grubišić

Tomislav Grubisic is a young entrepreneur in marketing and software development. Igor Mikloušić

Igor Mikloušić a psychologist employed at the Institute Ivo Pilar in Zagreb on project "Personality, natural language and cognitive development. " Assistant at the Hrvatski studiji / Croatian studies where he teaches, among other things, psychology and evolutionary psychology. Recently he writes at his very popular blog "Darwin's confessional. " The area of interest are the evolution of religion, cognitive science, religion and psychology. Lately, with students working on developing new research methodologies are related to online social networks.

Miroslav Varga

Miroslav Varga lives in Osijek, but works all over the world. Was fascinated with computers since first ZX81. He obtained two post-graduate studies and is the award-winning author at the Web:: Strategija Event. The presentation will point out the shift that we all subconsciously make, but the question is „have we moved foreward because of it“?

Tomislav Perko

Tomi Perko, a 26-year-old graduate student from Zagreb, an expert on the issue of alternative ways of traveling - will reveal to us (almost) free ways to travel the world. Last year's he raced highjacing from Zagreb to Istanbul. He will present new projects aimed at the same - to bring down prejudices the crucial role of money in travel.

Pedja Brajovic

Ognjen Bagatin

Manager of Polyclinic Bagatin for Maxillofacial, General and Plastic Surgery in Zagreb and one of the ideological founders of the project Helping is always in, through which, together with its polyclinic, helps integrate deaf people into society through sport and lifelong education in and outside the profession. I finished Faculty of Economics in Zagreb and got my MBA in Cotrugli Business School. I am a longtime basketball coach and coach of Croatian Deaf basketball national team. "Ognjen is a man of incredible energy that he easily transmittes to all around him, always seeking new knowledge and is always ready for continuous learning and improvement, and most of all enjoys helping us deaf to be better athletes and people." - Kristijan Kristo (deaf person ), Chairman of BC Silent Warriors Ognjen always demands order, and discipline, and above all - work. Throughout his five years working with these young people with hearing problems, it is evident that he helped them develope a character and mentality of a winner. The best indicator of this is that the club won 1.st place in the Champions League for the Deaf, EuroCup, London (Britain) 2009. Helping through action is always IN managed to sensitize the public and inform them about the possibilities of deaf people, especially those involved in sports. " Vladimir Dust, prof., leader of the Croatian Youth Club verbotonal Association Zagreb I will present the benefits of helping others for individuals and businesses. My desire is to equip all young deaf people with tools such as confidence, knowledge and teamwork to meet the requirements for integration into the community and enable employers to see the advantages and benefits for their company if they employ young people with hearing problems.
