The Craftsman - Realizing Ideas Worth Spreading.

The importance of realizing ideas worth spreading
On September 12, 2009 TEDxMITClubSingapore gathered four speakers with their inspiring visions for a better future and 50 guests from diverse backgrounds in an intimate venue to discover and bring into actuality ideas worth spreading.

In the spirit of TED that believes all knowledge is connected, the night witnessed a confluence of thought-provoking presenters and open-minded attendees from various backgrounds, including: computer science professor, beer brewer, cable TV channel founder, weekend busker, designer who represented Singapore at the Venice Biennale and parents of a scientific child prodigy.

TEDxMITClubSingapore was a small-scale event designed to spark and a sustain a much bigger movement in Singapore - using powerful ideas to change attitudes and actions. The theme of "The Craftsman" emphasized presenters who are doers in addition to being thinkers. Guests left the event with connections that empowers them to collaborate across disciplines and create far-reaching impact.
