Last year, Boston University students hosted the first ever TEDxBU: Epiphany & Beyond. It was a unique and fruitful experience that brought together students and professionals of all backgrounds to share their ideas. In hopes of continuing this experience, Boston University presents TEDxBU: Twisted Logic together with this year’s Winterfest Alumni Weekend. Yes, we know, Twisted what? Let’s shed some light on the theme for this year…

Twisted Logic is unconventional thinking that challenges the status quo. It doesn’t worry about being liked and it doesn’t care about being politically correct. Twisted Logic is about finding the truth even if the public doesn’t readily accept it. Mark Twain knew that, “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” It’s the people on the fringe and on the outside who invent the next big thing because they’re not held back by safe ideas that bind the masses. The world needs more Twisted Logic.

It’s easy, comfortable, and secure to stay well-worn track, but, to us, we’d rather explore the world of surprises hiding just around the corner. Twisted Logic helps us create our own path because we’re willing to take the unexpected turn, try something different, and reject the rules laid out by those before us. This notion, our twist of logic, is the driving force of this year’s TEDxBU.

If you share this passion, we invite you to attend, speak, and experience change and innovation first hand; we invite you to this year’s TEDxBU:Twisted Logic.
