In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abdel Rahman El-Mekkawy

He is an assistant professor at the faculty of dentistry at Misr University for Science and Technology. He is the founder of I-Dive TRiBE; it's a group of professional divers with various scientific and professional backgrounds outside the field of diving, they regard diving as a way of preserving the environment and promoting for tourism. Abdelrahman has a Master degree in the study of the effect of atmospheric pressure change on Endodontics. He thought into the effect of water pressure and diving on coral reefs in the Red Sea, and therefore began the formation of his team. Although diving is merely a water sport, it gets involved with the marine environment and the climate change.

Abdelrahman Mahmoud

Abdelrahman Mahmoud is a genomics and meta-genomics researcher in the human microbiome field. He is a passionate for science, philosophy and art. Also, he is providing short scientific videos for simplifying biological sciences for the public. He is working on and advanced research topic "HCV gut microbiome" in his master's degree studies trying to understand the mutual interactions between the human gut microbiome and live parthenogenesis of HCV patients. Recently he received the best presentation award from the Rocky Mountain bioinformatics conference, Colorado USA on his current research.

Ahmed Emad

A 22 year-old self-taught Pianist/Music Producer. He is a clinical pharmacy student in the meantime. He has been playing the piano for 12 years and started producing music 6 years ago. All his published work so far is cover of well-known pieces that he extremely admires. He collaborated with 2 singers, and currently is working on publishing his first original piece.

Ahmed Fawzy

They are studying at Suez Advanced Industrial School, the Petrochemicals Department. Last year they represented Egypt at VEX Robotics competition at the USA and won the judge's award; which is a recognition from the judges for special accomplishments. Their all time aim is to achieve the most possible level of progress in scientific and practical status.

Ahmed Najeeb

Ahmed Najeeb is a Game developer and Co-founder of 2024 Studios. Najeeb is a gamer in the first place who was raised on DOS games ever since he was 8. This ignited his passion towards Game Development and diving deeper into this limitless world. He studied Computer Engineering at Ain Shams University and graduated in 2013. Since he knew his path and goal, immediately he joined Information Technology Institute (ITI) to enroll in a game development diploma for 9 months. His project in ITI was a casual mobile game, that he imagined when he was in college, called "Puppy in bubble". He and his team participated in Microsoft's competition Imagine Cup 2014 (كأس التخيل) with their project and got awarded 3rd place in the global finals. Returning home, he and his friends decided that they can play a great role in shaping game development industry in Egypt thus they formed their dream team and launched their startup 2024 Studios.

Amir Barsoum

Amir Barsoum is the CEO and founder of Vezeeta; a leading Healthcare IT platform. He was the Area Strategy Manager of Middle East and North Africa at AstraZaneca for pharmaceuticals. He joined AstraZeneca after claiming Management Consultant role in McKinsey & Co. seving several healthcare & FMCG entities in public and private sectors in Europe and MENA. He holds an MBA from the American University in Cairo, a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Ain Shams University, and an Executive Education Certificate from Harvard University.

Amr Chahine

Amr Chahine is a journalist and a film critic member of the Egyptian Film Critics Association, he worked with multiple press foundations and has published numerous reports and cinematic reviews On several specialized sites such as Filfan, Cinematographmag.com, Elcinema.com and Qoll.net

Halabesa Band

Halabesa is the first pantomime band in the Suez Canal region. Their aim is to provide comedy Pantomime purposefully and try to create unique combination from a range of arts through their performance.

Heba Ragab

Heba Ragab is a traveler, an architect and the founder of the first cinematic architecture school in Egypt. She invented four theories that can change the vision of architecture in cinema and how architects think; by leading a new way of learning that depends on the travel concept. Heba has a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering and owns copyrights of her inventions and theories. Her previous experience includes filling the position of an executive manager in an architecture engineering consultancy company and now she runs her own business "Archicinema School"

Hesham Hussein

Hesham Hussin is an archaeologist, working in Sinai, in 2013 I received his Ph.D. in "Eastern frontier of Egypt during Pharaonic period," his work allows him to recognize how importance is the role of new technology in the field of cultural heritage, his research interest focuses on the applications of remote sensing techniques and paleography for a better understanding of archaeological sites location in the Nile valley. Also it is based on north western part of Sinai area, where a major project is going on.

Mohamed El Dib

Mohamed El Dib is Creative Director, and Conceptualizer. He believes that the only way to change the world is by changing perspectives. Currently, El Dib is a cofounder and Creative Director of Monkeys in Tuxedos LLC.

Omar Rabie

Omar is a lawyer and an Account Manager at Nahdet El Mahrousa. Omar worked as a Communication and Social Mobilization Fellow at UNAIDS Egypt office as part of his Lazord fellowship at the Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement in the American University in Cairo. In April 2016 he earned his post-graduate certificate in Social Innovation Management from the Amani Institute in Nairobi, Kenya, where he also spent his Legal Apprenticeship at IKM Advocates, DLA Piper Africa.

Osama Kamal

Osama Kamal is an electronics and communication engineer. He started Shisan for 3D printing technologies in 2015 and he is aiming to produce the most affordable high quality 3D Printer in the Middle East.

Ramy Wassef

Ramy Wassef is the managing partner and founder of Streaming Creativity Game Studios. He started his game development passion when he was just 10 years old. He holds a B.Sc.in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo.

Sara Ghazi

Sara is a vocational trainer, English Instructor, and a freelance recruiter. She has been teaching English mostly for adults for over 10 years and has been training professionally since 2012. She has taught and trained thousands of students and trainees till date. She is a graduate of The English School in Heliopolis and studied English Literature at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University. Sara has been actively blogging about Education's development and releasing one's self of society norms and stereotypes among other things. She believes that only through education we can change the world. Also, she believes in people and their ability to develop and become better versions of themselves with little guidance.

Sherine Emad

Sherine is a psychologist who holds a Master's degree in psychological counseling from the American University in Cairo. She has been working in the psychiatry field for three years and she was trained in several hospitals and clinics in Cairo during her undergraduate studies. She is also responsible for a campaign that raises awareness on depression and mental illness. She is really passionate about working in this field and she continues to aspire to achieve her lifelong dream of eliminating the social taboo related to mental illness; where all patients receive proper treatment in a humanely manner regardless to their social class.
