In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aino Sundholm

Annamari Heikkilä

Annamari Heikkilä is a psychologist who has specialized in how to cope with stress and burnout. She believes that you can test your beliefs and that people should be loved for who they are, not who they can become.

Frans Mäyrä

Frans Mäyrä is a professor at the University of Tampere Game Research Lab, where he studies digital culture, game studies - as well as science fiction, fantasy and horror.

Jamin Hu

Jamin Hu is a student at Etelä-Tapiola high school, where he has inspired his fellow students to make projects around their strengths and passions. He is spreading ways to do the same to other high schools with their Hautomo Incubator.

Jarkko Rantanen

Jarkko Rantanen is a psychologist, who has strong experience in coaching organizations and individuals to embrace their emotions.

Jenni Vartiainen

Aino Sundholm and Jenni Vartiainen have developed a model for teaching science to small children at the LUMA Center of the University of Helsinki.

Kirsi Hyttinen

Kirsi Hyttinen has a lot of experience in conflict prevention as well as adult and higher education. She is currently coordinating projects for crisis management and security that are funded by the European Commission.

Kristiina Kumpulainen

Kristiina Kumpulainen is a professor of education at the University of Helsinki and the founder of the Playful Learning Center. She examines learning and education from an sociocultural perspective.

Laura Vanhanen

Laura tells the story of a circus school, which was opened by young Syrian talents, Sirkus Magenta and FCA @FCA_global in Za'atri, Jordan. With her experience in Finnish education sector development and learning solutions, Laura is working with projects strengthening access to quality education in fragile contexts: refugee situations and developing countries.

Maria Heiskanen

Maria Heiskanen is a social scientist, who is one of the developers of a learning game about how society works. The game combines experiential learning with hard data from social statistics, and promotes civic engagement while still being fun. Which is nice.

Rita Kannisto

Rita Kannisto has been a teacher for 20 years, and she has supervised too many recesses to count.

Tanja Piha

Tanja Piha is perhaps the world’s only sales booster, whose job is to get lawyers to learn new things and try their skills as salespeople. She also has fun doing her job, as she gets to play with lawyers.

Verna Vuoripuro

Verna Vuoripuro is a journalist and an author, who is working with Hello Ruby to bring programming knowledge to kids and teachers.

Vesa-Pekka Karinen

Vesa-Pekka found himself in such a situation, along with a bunch of colleagues. They had to solve problems that led them deeper and deeper into an exciting job. There was even a real treasure map! But this time, the journey really was more important than the destination.
