In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anita Reddy

Women Empowerment

Anita Reddy is an Indian social worker from Karnataka and the founder of Association for Voluntary Action and Services (AVAS),[1][2] known for her services for the rehabilitation and upliftment of the slum dwellers in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.[3] She is the managing trustee of DWARAKA and DRIK Foundations, working for children's education and women's livelihoods. The Government of India honored Anita Reddy in 2011, with the fourth highest civilian award of Padma Shri.

Raja Thomas

Founder of NAMI

Thomas Raja, popularly known as Auto Raja (born 1967) is an Indian humanitarian, social worker and the founder of the New Ark Mission of India (NAMI), a non governmental organization engaged in helping the destitutes of Bengaluru, a south Indian metropolitan city. The organization houses around 750 inmates, providing them food, shelter and healthcare. Raja is a recipient of a number of awards including the NDTV Man of The Year Award, the CNN-IBN Real Heroes Award and the Namma Bengaluru Award.
