Theme: ALIVE! Maximum living as a Human

This event occurred on
June 4, 2011
12:00pm - 10:00pm PDT
(UTC -7hrs)
San Francisco, California
United States

The theme for this late spring event is ALIVE! Maximum Living as a Human. We will explore big questions through (in TED fashion) the eyes of science, business, arts, letters, music and more. Our events have a San Francisco flavor, in that they have a technology and startup bias, and a broad spirit of inquiry.

ALIVE! will examine the human lifecycle in reverse, from death to conception (we’re ending with orgasm, in the form of what is looking like a fabulous music and dance filled gathering). Speakers and artists will extend new ideas (or embody!)in the areas of vibrant aging, the central questions of adulthood (such as meaning, mission, family, identity, sexuality, living in community), coming of age, childhood, birth and conception. Already we have world famous researchers, inventors, authors and performers coming to speak, along with surprises from the underground- unique and new concepts that are just coming into consciousness. We follow the standard TED talk format- long talks are 18 minutes, short talks and interstitials are 3-5 minutes.

We expect attendees to leave with a new understanding of what’s possible at various stages of life, with new energy and excitement and delight- as well as some specific takeaways and insights to enhance their own experience. This is a great opportunity for speakers and sponsors to get engaged with a vibrant community of opinion leaders, thinkers and doers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
