In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

BAYARKHUU CHINZORIGT

Researcher
BAYARKHUU CHINZORIGT was awarded “World’s One of the TOP­25 Student Researchers of the world” in 2013. In TedxUlaanbaatar 2015 event, he will share his experiences from the time he was studying in Master’s Degree of Economics and Law School in Germany, and also about his project titled “Mongolia’s countryside development and its complications”. He will propose an interesting topic and ideas about how to create a favorable environment for Mongolian future, especially in economic and demographic field.

BOLDBAATAR DORJSUREN

Author
BOLDBAATAR DORJSUREN translated world renown novels such as the Wolf Totem, The Kite Runner, and the Mountains Echoed, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, The Catcher in the Rye to Mongolian language. He studies and does research on effective ways to learn a foreign language and about Mongolian traditional home “Ger” training methods and in the same field he wrote the book “In the path of Mongolian Conscious”.

DORJDEREM NYAMJAV

Physics
DORJDEREM NYAMJAV is an experienced Dr. Professor in physics and with his discovery in nanotechnology he successfully obtained patents on his work. He has a great deal of experience in doing research on the nanotechnology field. Before his current job he was working as a professor in the United States and currently he is the rector of the University of German ­Mongolian Mineral Resources and Technology.

ERDEMBILEG DORJJADAMBA

Artist
ERDEMBILEG DORJJADAMBA is an artist, an architect and a designer. One of his major works is the monument complex of “Genghis Khaan State on Horseback”, 40 meters long, located in Erdene Sum of Tuv Aimag that is known as one of the nine wonders of Mongolia. Now he is working as the head designer on “Morin Khuur” Complex, and “Grand Maitreya” projects.

ERDENEBOLD SUKHBAATAR

Lawyer, writer, and a historian
Do you believe in time travel machine? This question was asked by ERDENEBOLD SUKHBAATAR a few years ago in one of his lectures. Erdenebold told the audience we are traveling from the past to the future in a time machine measured by seconds. Erdenebold is a lawyer, writer, and a historian. Before he heads to Harvard University, he is sharing his unique research with TedxUlaanbaatar 2015 audiences.

SAYANTSETSEG SANGIDORJ

Pianist
SAYANTSETSEG SANGIDORJ founded the “Ciudad de Huesca” international piano competition in 1999, and she’s currently working as the president and facilitator of the competition. She’s the first Mongolian pianist who’s been certified to organize such international music festivals on behalf of her own name. She is an internationally recognized pianist and put on more than 300 performances all over the world including cities like Moscow, Sofia, Mexico City, Madrid, New York and Yokohama.

UYANGA BAZAA

PR and media communication specialist
Since 2003, UYANGA BAZAA, a Fulbright scholar, has been practicing PR and media communications in Mongolia and conducted various researches on Mongolia. Her professional focus gears towards PR and public diplomacy. In TedxUlaanbaatar event, she will propose an interesting topic on how Mongolia has been portrayed internationally through mass media, pop culture and current social media.

YURI NIKOLAEVICH KRUCHKIN

Scholar, journalist, essayist
YURI NIKOLAEVICH KRUCHKIN is a scholar, journalist, essayist and a diplomat. In his online journal "Today’s Mongolia" which is published in Russian, he writes about politics, economics and social events of Mongolia and the website has readers from more than 80 countries. He has written and published more than sixty books, works as a synchronized translator.
