Kenichi Takamizawa
Farmer and creator
Kenichi has devoted his life to growing tomatoes in Nobeyama heights, where most farmers have no doubts about choosing to pursue large scale lettuce cultivation. At an altitude of 1,350 meters above sea level, “Kumono Ueno Tomatoes (Tomatoes Above the Clouds)” taste vividly sour and super sweet. Some say he’s eccentric, but let us listen to his story about why he always smiles when facing his field.

Masako Ikeda
Researcher in forest ecology, artist
As a daughter, a wife, a daughter-in-law, and a mother, Masako is busy caring for her family. Whenever she finds time in the early morning, however, she rushes to the forest to continue her research work. She overcame her illness with the help of the forest, and it made her decide to turn to it from the scientific perspective of ecology. In her darkest hour, she felt safe only in the forest. Both from her own experience and a scientific perspective, she will give us new insights on the relationship between human minds and the forests.
Moegi Kazama
First-year student at Shinshu University, Faculty of Education
“All grown-ups were once children - although few of them remember it.” (The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery) Do you still have a childlike mind? Moegi, a 19-year-old girl, still remembers that all grown-ups were once children, and she too was once a child. She hopes never to lose her childlike mind. She doesn’t pretend to be an adult, and sees the world through the eyes of a child. Understanding what a childlike mind really is, she will recommend some “fun and cool play” for children. And she will tell you how children really count on adults all the time.

Yu Kosuda
Cram school teacher
Yu works for a tutoring school in Tokyo. He is a tutor of the school and also a big brother to all the pupils. Although many Japanese parents expect tutoring schools to help children achieve good exam results, he spares a lot of his own free time to help each child develop their personal goals. He is going to talk about the basis for the "Dream Support Meetings” that he practices at his workplace.
