TEDxSungaiSegget attempts to be a powerful form of communication – soundwave: unearth the local voices to enhance your experience of Ideas Worth Spreading and foster connections between speakers, audience and community. TEDxSungaiSegget intends to be a source of the wave and community as the recipient to be aware (soundware) and receive it.

Robiahtul Sofia & Ayu Nerina

Sofia and Ayu are working on Malaysian Youth Leadership Camp (MYLeadCamp) to provide people with disability a platform to develop exceptional leadership skills and promote social awareness, unity and cultural diversity.

Briken Min Jie Foong

With the idea that young generation tends to work in flexible manner, Min Jie sets up 'Inventory' which is an online platform for students, craftsmen and freelancers to present their talents.

Eddin Khoo

Eddin is a poet, writer, translator and journalist. He has worked intimately with some of Malaysia’s leading traditional artists including shadow puppeteers, musicians, dramatists and dancers. He has focused principally in the state of Kelantan, researching aspects of oral transmission, cultural and religious politics as well as aspects of ritual in traditional theatre.

Haji MD. Ismail Zamzam

Zam Ismail, the winner of Southeast Asian Writers Award (S.E.A. Write) 2014, is a respected educator, poet, writer and one of the founders of the Association of Writers Johor (PPJ). His continuous support towards the publishing of research and books about Johor history and heritage brought a significant contribution to the documentation and literature of Johor.

Khadzlan Hairani Ali Omar

Designing the layout for Miniland as well as producing LEGO models for LEGOLAND attractions around the world. He also played a significant role in the group of Malaysia-based model builders who has delivered the LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort.

Stevens Chan

Mr Chan was a corporate professional and active businessman up until the year 2007 when he lost all his vision due to Glaucoma, an eye disease that causes blindness. He then founded two non-profit organizations, Malaysia Glaucoma Society and Save Ones Sight Mission Bhd, with the objectives of educating the public on preventing unnecessary blindness and also to help patients with different eye disorders cope with handling the changes that occur with the disease.

Yasmin Rasyid

Yasmin Rasyid is a biologist by profession and an environmentalist by passion. She has been crusading for the environment since 1998, working with government agencies, private entities, NGOs and also academic institutions on areas related to sustainability and learning mechanisms, community-based conservation efforts, policy advocacy and also in areas of community empowerment.
