Cal Harrison

For 14 years, Cal has had his own consulting practice called Beyond Referrals where he advises organizations on the buying and selling of professional services. From the U of M he has a degree in English, a Masters of Business Admin, as well as a diploma in Advertising Art from Red River. He believes that by making one change to the way governments hire experts, we can remove 5 billion dollars worth of administrative waste from Canada’s economy.

Cornelius Buller

Cornelius is a writer, a speaker and a consultant. He is inspired through words and ideas of others. He enjoys contributing to a meaningful dialogue; particularly if we can help improve the world, the social, cultural and physical environment which we share and within which we together live. He strives to develop a movement of men who respect and honour women with the aim of changing the culture that validates violence against women.

Darrick Baxter

Darrick is a developer who creates Native American language learning tools for tribes in Canada and the United States. This is his passion because he wants to help other tribes revitalize and pass on their ancestral teachings for generations. He has the expertise, tools and determination that can help save many dying languages around the world.

Derek Neufeld

“To meet our future global energy needs in a reliable, economical, and sustainable way, we must look to small scale distributed electricity generation instead of large scale centralized generation.” — Derek designs turbines that capture energy from flowing water and converts that energy into electricity in order to supply power to regions that would otherwise not have access to it.

Heather Hinam

Heather is a naturalist, educator, guide and interpretive planner all under the umbrella of her own business, which acts as an outlet to help reconnect people with nature and, in some cases, help their local economy create a sense of stewardship. She has a PHD in Ecology and enjoys facilitating connections and helping people make their own discoveries. (Photographs and illustrations in the presentation are all Heather Hinam originals)

Kim Zeglinski

Kim has been an early years teacher in a variety of capacities for about 20 years. She is a writer-performer and a Nominee for the 2014 Manitoba Association of Playwrights’ Harry Rintoul Award for Best New Manitoba Play. She is pursuing a course of study in school counselling with an emphasis on Expressive Arts Therapy through a partnership between the University of Winnipeg’s Faculty of Education and W.H.E.A.T. Institute.

Patrick O'Reilly

Patrick is a certified executive coach who owns a leadership coaching company. He is committed to helping successful leaders take themselves and their organizations to new heights of success. Coaching allows him to fulfill his desire to help leaders who have been successful in their careers identify the strengths that will continue to serve them well.

Sheena Grobb

Sheena is a singer/songwriter/musician and teacher who is also currently embarking on a speaking career. Her third music album was mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London— the same studio The Beatles made their records in! Currently she is also forming a project called the Living Compassion Project, which focuses on helping others share their stories as she shares hers.

Sherry Benson-Podolchuk

Sherry is a retired RCMP officer of 20 years. She has a degree in conflict resolution studies, which alongside of her personal experience with bullying in the workplace, has helped her to learn how to empower people to speak up and be educated on how to do so in the most effective way. She aims to find the link between leadership, self-esteem, bullying and the importance of attitude to instill hope.

Tim Hague Sr.

Tim Hague Sr. is a registered nurse by day (pay check) and a professional speaker and writer the rest of the time (passion). He overcame the odds when he went from a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease to — just three years later — becoming the inaugural winner of CTV’s The Amazing Race Canada. He believes that, like many others who suffer with a myriad of other ailments, we can live to our fullest when we choose to persevere.

Todd Scott

Todd has been teaching CPR and first aid for over 20 years. Additionally, he has a degree in science and is a registered massage practitioner. You might also know him as the world-renowned duct tape artist, a naturalist or rock-climbing instructor! His main goal is to get information to people in a way that makes learning fun, and does so by thinking outside of the box.
