While trying to ensure he had a fun spring break Bryce stumbled upon a useful loophole in the credit card system.
He now travels all around the world for next to nothing, and keeps an entertaining blog about it as well as having written a book which you can download for free.

Charley Buchan is a man of many hats. He has been a musician, teacher, worked in University outreach programmes and now, as a side project, runs a small record label.
Through this record label Charley manages to bring together people from rural parts of Scotland and preserve old traditions and language.
His inclusive community building approach means that he is also not afraid to work with people from any genre who just want to get their voice out there.

Iain is an allegedly retired lecturer in Gaelic who is still teaching, broadcasting and giving talks!
He learned the language as a teenager, played an active role in its regeneration and brought up a family of Gaelic speakers.

Maria Maclennan is a designer and researcher who has translated her talents in jewellery to become practical in the field of forensic science.
Through this she is developing techniques to use peoples' adornments to identify their bodies after death.
A fantastically new and unusual field, Maria has managed to secure positions working with the police and is currently working on her PhD.
Mark Davidson
Mark's background is in philosophy and coaching. He has drawn on his philosophical work (the Philosophical Clarity Project and a novel, The Philosophy Game) and his coaching experience (INSEAD, Harvard, and many multinational companies) to develop a powerful new paradigm for coaching and organisational development. He now runs Merlin Scotland, a start-up that teaches coaching. In this talk he will be discussing how to implement common sense in every day life.

Michael Dempster
Michael is an Auditory Neuroscientist who gained his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Glasgow for his work exploring neural processing fundamental to language and music perception. He is also a first-language Scots speaker.
He has taught modern Scots to people from outwith Scotland and to people from Scotland who want to learn more about their own ways of speaking. Over the past year he has been working on his forthcoming book “Mind yer language? - How we talk English an how we talk Scots.”
