“If the next summer-camp won’t be better, I will never go on any camp again.” This is what I told my mum when I was 11 years old and she just picked me up from my first Christian-summer-camp. The following year I got to know a camp method that fascinated me. Living in a different time, together with 200 other kids in the middle of the woods, learning how to build fortresses, experiencing what is like to fight together with Robin Hood for justice, and asking my self what that actually is, “justice”? Does the end justify the means? With the age of sixteen, I started helping at these experiential educational camps, later I organized and led them, went abroad to teach camps and youth-groups using this method. Today I am the president of an international network for Christian experiential education. In my talk I will investigate how this “Robin-Hood-Camp” could have such a strong impact on my life and how these tools can also be used in education and youth work in Kenya."

“You give them something to eat” is the staggering solution offered to the disciples of Jesus when they are faced with over 5000 hungry people in a remote area. Whatever your religious inclination is, isn’t the focus here, but the weight of this statement. One day upon reading this verse in Matthew 14, my mind began to go wild and a moment of epiphany struck me like lighting. ‘You have the answer’, I began to think. On that day, I began a beautiful journey. I stopped looking up waiting for someone else to come and give me this great idea that would change my life. It then became about me and what I could give back to my society. The ‘Beautiful Feet’ project was birthed out of there. I believe like Dr.Munroe rightly stated, “In the cemetery there is buried the greatest treasure of untapped potential. There is a treasure within you that must come out. Don’t go to the grave with your treasure still within YOU.''
