Theme: How Women Are Using Media to Change the World

This event occurred on
December 8, 2010
6:30pm - 10:00pm GMT
(UTC +0hrs)
London, London, City of
United Kingdom

TEDxSohoLDN will focus on local change agents, with live talks by Jess Search, Chief Executive of Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation, Andrea Hartley, Founder of Skating Panda and Jude Kelly, the Artistic Director of the Southbank Centre, musical performances by Alice Russell and former Lamb songstress Lou Rhodes, and the artwork of Charlotte Cory and Kate Jenkins from the Rebecca Hossack gallery.

TEDxSohoLDN will showcase the women who are innovators and architects of change in the world of the media, both locally and globally. Whether based on data-driven insights that upend traditional stereotypes or personal stories with universal resonance, all our speakers share one thing in common: big, bold ideas about women's roles in the world.

As always with TED, TEDxSohoLDN will bring together an audience as fascinating and accomplished as the speakers themselves. This event will feature exceptional musical performances, art, and food all provided by remarkable women.

TEDxSohoLDN is only the launch of what will be a potent womens' network in greater London to join forces across industries, media outlets and the voluntary sector to move London — and our planet forward!
