In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dr. Ryan Jackson

Assistant Principal
Dr. Ryan Jackson brings to the TEDxAntioch stage a very diverse educational portfolio that includes a degree in Business Administration, Masters of Art in Teaching, and a Doctorate in Education Leadership. Not only is he book smart, but he’s also a creative and spent time writing/producing/directing feature films. Dr. Jackson has been an educator at Maplewood High School for 7 years specializing in Urban Education. He provides high-quality teaching and leadership to a community and student body that has historically been underserved. He is committed to ensuring all students receive their civil right of a top-notch, cutting-edge education, regardless of race, class, gender or ethnicity.

Janet Ivey

Janet Ivey's love and passion for children is palatable. She loves first and teaches second. Janet believes that we must let our students create and innovate and find their art alongside their science, that we must create experiences that lead to wonder and that we must use our words and our love to be the brick and mortar foundation that they build their future lives upon. Janet is a Buzz Aldrin Share Science Ambassador and her company Janet's Planet has won 12 Regional Emmys, 5 Gracie Allen Awards and a STEMFlorida Award. Janet's Planet can be seen on 120+ public television stations nationwide, Club Jelly Telly, BatteryPop, HighBrow and Viddiverse.
