Sometimes swelling with monsoon rains, and sometimes bone-dry with cracked dirt, the Rillito River winds through Tucson. The heart of a river resides under the surface, and this event asks us to go beneath the surface of the issues that shape our world and impact our lives, from exploring beneath layers of paint on a famous work of art to plunging beyond surface-level depictions of communities. TEDxRillitoRiver, in homage to the river system that first prompted people to gather around the water and call this place home, seeks to be a space for collective inspiration as we continue to create our community.
