身為軟體工程師的陳幸延，同時也是蘭陽平原的科技農夫，他在五年前開始串聯工程師、研究者和農業從事者，成立了開放農業實驗室。他們設置氣象站收集即時環境資訊，設計動力水閘門來遠端遙控供水，甚至製作電子版農民曆改善全球暖化造成的日曆誤差，透過發想、設計和實作的過程結合不同專業，改善農業資訊落差的問題。
An engineer by training and a tech-farmer in the Lanyang Plain, Xing-yan Chen launched Open Hack Farm by connecting engineers, academics and farmers. Collecting raw field data and converging multiple areas of expertise, Open Hack Farm built weather forecast station, electric water gates, digital farming calendars, etc to improve the quality of farming and narrowing the gap between the farming and technology industry.
