"Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that our country shall be strong.”
Being the strength of the nation in the precarious time of Covid and lockdown was a mother, a sister, a wife and a true patriot. Captain Swati Raval made history as the first female rescue pilot to lead a mission during the pandemic. The 40-year-old evacuated a group of 263 Indians from Rome, a former COVID-19 hotspot, as commander of the country’s national carrier Air India. In her edifying TED talk, she narrates her experience of the entire evacuation program and how this mother of two from the humble state of Gujarat found her “WHY OR Y” of life.
Captain Swati Raval after bringing countless Indians who were stranded in the churches of Italy, now looks forward to serving the nation again in any way possible and even preparing her kids for the same. Her loyalty and spirit of service towards the nation has won the heart of the entire nation. Catch all the ground details here on this TED talk from the woman herself who broke the barriers of the society and became a Captain from a generation when women were not even provided with rudimentary education.
