How can we liberate our children from a checklisted childhood?

It is widely observed that helicopter parenting is the modern-day parenting style. The parents are overprotective. They are too anxious about their children's schoolwork and grades. They do things out of the way in an effort to protect their children from pain and disappointment. They keep a checklist that they themselves couldn't achieve for their children to achieve. They think that they do all these to make their children succeed. Though the children may get the best possible grades/marks, they fail to realise who they are and what their potential is. Instead of attaining self-efficacy, they develop dependency. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by SSVM Institutions.
