Khumoyun shares his realisation while in high school that high schools will not always teach students what they want to learn. As such he emersed himself in reading self-help books to learn those abstract and yet necessary skills that he thinks should be taught right from high school instead of waiting to learn them later on in life. He calls upon the audience to help in creating schools that prepare students for life rather than standardised exams.
Khumoyun is a student at SolBridge International School of Business. Although he is a freshman, he is deeply engaged in university life events and competitions including debate contests that make him an exemplary to his fellows. At age 17, he opened up a club “Pep Talks” that serves his local community in Uzbekistan as a place where everybody gets inspired to act on their dreams.
This Talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
