If your carbon footprint falls and no one is around to hear about it, does it make an impact? Communities can amplify our climate-positive actions as we share ideas and novel approaches. Further, discussing such actions with our wider communities shifts the cultural norm to bring change to places where we didn't think it was possible. However, if a community lacks empathy and/or diversity, it can prevent progress. So we need to nurture our communities as we would a plant, to promote new growth.
Dr Anna Hands will talk about the benefits of community in bringing about the sustainable behaviour change necessary to tackle the climate crisis.
