In this powerful talk, Taylor asks us: "How do you reconcile a lynching?" He applies his "three R's" of Reconciliation: Remembrance, Repair, and Redemption.
For context, Alonzo Tucker is the only documented lynching of a black man in the State of Oregon, which happened on September 18, 1902 in Coos Bay. Taylor was instrument in erecting a historical monument on June 23, 2021, to honor Tucker and the community's reconciliation efforts.
Through empathetic leadership, community building, and sheer will, Taylor reminds us of what is right in this world and what me must do to move forward with redemptive justice.
Taylor was part of a historic 7,000+ attendee Year 10 experience. After three reschedules due to the Pandemic, our Core Organizing Team persevered through 1,164 days of planning and execution to produce the event for Portland, OR.
