Smriti Singhal in her TED talk conveys the idea that social media is the best conquerer in the history of mankind which has been able to captivate the minds of the people. It is worse than being physically captivated. People’s minds are being imprisoned by this invisible conquerer.
Through the concept of "SMAD" i.e. Social Media Anxiety Disorder, she decodes how human beings are under a constant pressure of performing in front of the audience and how they have begun measuring their value and confidence meter which goes up and down based upon the
number of likes, comments and shares they get from the network online.
