As an experienced gynecologist and obstetrician, Dr. Sadia Malick raised the very crucial issue of maternal healthcare, during and after pregnancy. There is, indeed, no doubt that the third world countries struggle to maintain high standards of healthcare provision, especially to the deprived masses. Her talk focused on the causes of increasing rates of maternal and new born mortality as well as the reasons of stunted growth, and the steps we can take immediately to reduce them. She shared her experiences on how interventions can enable trauma stricken individuals and families to have renewed hope and happiness.
