Despite enormous breakthroughs in digital filmmaking, animators still seek the ultimate tools to create realistic digital humans. The face and especially the eyes of digital humans play an important role in the expression of emotions and feelings of a character and the eye is, like for real humans, the window to the soul of a digital human. In the last few years tremendous progress has been made in capturing and modeling the shape and appearance of the human eye. In his talk, Pascal highlights this progress and new technologies that have enabled the creation of a new generation of animated heroes to thrill moviegoers.
