In a world teeming with cars, buses, trains, and a variety of other vehicles, it can be easy to lose sight of the fact that for some, transportation is a very real barrier to necessary services, like medical care. Particularly for non-English speakers or those with disabilities, accessing transportation can be extremely difficult, and is one of the top reasons for missed medical appointments. Fueled by her two of her greatest passions, problem solving and helping others, physics professor Moumita Dasgupta created a software that integrates patient scheduling with public transportation availability as a means of increasing access for populations in need.
