Inspired by a lecture they attended, Léo and Nicolas decided to follow up on the science behind cryptocurrencies. What is bitcoin? What are cryptocurrencies? How does blockchain work? They discuss the key ideas, issues and the potential power of one of the most rapidly changing technologies of the future.
Nicolas studies Economics and Psychology at A-level and is looking to take psychology at University. Psychology has played a key role in his interest in computing and more specifically blockchain as humans are not rational beings. He has invested in a variety of cryptocurrencies as he believes they will form the future of transactions and revolutionize the way we pay for everyday items.
Studying Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A-level, Léo hopes to take a degree in Computer Science at University. Choosing to talk about cryptocurrencies was prompted by people's misunderstanding of how virtual currencies work. In the talk, he attempts to challege some misconceptions about cryptocurrencies, as well as explaining the technology behind the future of money.
