NOTE FROM TED: The role of climate change and algal blooms in human health remains an ongoing field of study. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. Ever think of how climate change affect our brains? Turns out, this is an emerging area of research in neuroscience. Burcin Ikiz is a neuroscientist who will break down how climate change can be a contributing factor to some of the common medical diagnoses across the lifespan. Because the climate change is still a relatively new area for neuroscientists to explore, Burcin believed that there will be more information for all to know in the years and decades to come. This information will be helpful to various stakeholder groups- from families affected by these common medical diagnoses, to healthcare professionals working with patients with these diagnoses.
