Washington, D.C. based reproductive justice organizers, political commentators, and media makers, Amber J. Phillips and Jazmine Walker are the co-hosts and creators of the weekly podcast, The Black Joy Mixtape. Jazmine and Amber use the Black Joy Mixtape to center women, girls, and femmes as they tackle the weekly news and political headlines through comedy and sisterhood. Their talk defines what Black Joy is, barriers to its expression, and how Black Joy can energize our movements and all our lives. You've never heard a Tedx Talk or the news like this before!
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. It was filmed and edited by Tijo Media at the Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Arts Center in Richmond, VA.
