Make Jokes Not War

Zev Burton is a Junior in the School of Foreign Service majoring in International Politics fascinated by discovering unique ways to help make the world more peaceful. He is the author of "Two Fish in a Tank: How Jokes May Save Our Fractured World," which is set to be published in April 2021. His talk, "Make Jokes Not War," is an in-depth exploration of humor's role as a form of resistance within oppressive governments. In it, he takes us all over the world to various points in history to show how in times of oppression, humor is a valuable weapon for the oppressed.
