Yumna is a multi-hyphenate growth enthusiast, committed to influencing transformational change to ensure marginalised young people’s voices are directly embedded in policy making. She is the elected Deputy Member of Youth Parliament for Birmingham and the Chair of Birmingham Aspiring Youth Council, representing 200,000+ young people in UK Youth Parliament.
To date, Yumna has embarked on the journey of launching her youth-led startup called RESILIENCE. Her mission is to build resiliency into our youth, equipping them with the skills to navigate societal issues, and in particular, use the power of imagination to transform the education system.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. The theme of this years TEDxYouth@Brum 2021 conference is INSERT FUTURE HERE.
