Our society does an amazing job of helping us remember the most famous people in the world. Although it is a less common occurrence in mass media, shining a light on anonymous Black men who have not been victims of violence is a worthwhile and necessary creative venture. Through painting portraits of my friends, family, and strangers I've met in transit, I seek to encourage everyone to celebrate and develop a deeper appreciation for the people in their immediate vicinity.
