Argentina has huge deposits of minerals necessary for the production of alternative and sustainable energies. Victoria Flexer is a chemist and leads the installation the facilities of a research and development institute at the lithium mines in Jujuy and shows how we can make excellent cutting-edge science and technology far from the big urban centers. One day Victoria decided to come back. After receiving a PhD in Chemistry at UBA and working in research and development for more than 7 years in France, Australia and Belgium, she came back to work on the development of the new Research and Development Center for Advanced Materials and Energy Storage of Jujuy, in the National University of Jujuy and at CONICET.
