In this political climate, understanding the history and context of "illegality" is imperative. Why do we see undocumented/liminal immigrants as a threat? When did this begin? How do we see this being (re)produced today?
Valentina is a liminal immigrant from Florida, Uruguay studying at Dartmouth College. Her life as an immigrant who is ni de aquí, ni de allá has forced her to look at the structures that work against her and communities like hers. She hopes that through looking at North America's history and relationship with immigration, we can be aware of how the same cycles of discrimination, injustice, and oppression are continuously perpetuated.
