The Perception of Joy

Joy is a very subjective topic; one person can be happy with something another would scoff at, or vice versa. In this talk, I will explain how anyone can find happiness in the simplest and seemingly insignificant things. This summer, my family and I went to Italy and delved into the culture of this beautiful place. One of the main things I pulled from seeing my distant family is that, even with the lack of luxury they have compared to others in the world, they still showed us happiness and love as they invited us into their homes. The antagonist in my argument is not a person or group of people, but the idea of not enjoying life, what you have, and who you’re with. During my talk, I want to find a way to get my audience involved, keep them engaged, and leave them with an inspirational message they can use to change themselves inwardly and outwardly. Thank you for offering me this chance to speak about something I have learned this past year.
