Keeping Brooklyn's pioneer spirit alive
Brooklyn is magic, if you ask Tanya Dwyer. She sees clear parallels among the New York City borough's intrepid early settlers and the resilient spirit and collective courage of the disparate immigrant communities who occupy it today. After serving these populations herself as a foreclosure attorney during the economic downturn, Tanya Dwyer is now working to establish a living-wage business park that is cooperatively owned by the community.
